The Benefits of Harem Pants

Hello all! Hopefully you have missed my posts during the past 2 weeks, I've certainly missed doing them, however it's been very difficult to find the time to blog while adjusting to living in Paris. Today I finally found the time to do some styling and then blog about it. Now the outfit pictured above is kind of an interesting one, being that its not my go to uniform (I've run out of clean pants and the brisk Parisian weather has not been hospitable to the many dresses I brought with me), but it ended up being a total blessing in disguise. Let's just say that MC Hammer was definitely on to something when he was rocking harem pants. I discovered this today at 12:19 while my friends I were racing across the Gare St. Lazare like a bunch of crazies to catch a train to Giverny that was due to leave at 12:20.

Harem Pants, as it it happens, are a wonderful alternative to jeans. There's a reason that they've been in vogue for the past few years. Perhaps its the effortlessly cool "I'm not trying to look too perfect" aesthetic. Or maybe its the fact that they are significantly less binding than the traditional pipe-leg pants so you have much more room (and comfort) to move around as you please (like frantically sprinting across a train station, for example). Practicality when it comes to clothing is certainly not my middle name, but I definitely would encourage everyone to try out a pair of harem pants. It will change up your usual aesthetic, but you won't have to sacrifice your comfort as is often required when trying out a daring new look.
